Genesis White Rose - Revised

This design is my own and the piece is painted in Genesis Heat-Set Oils. 

This painting is a revision to the one done early in the month.  I was not pleased with that one and after making it a topic of our Genesis Monday Night Chats, I played some more.   I have softened the overall values and added more levels of greys, warm whites and a touch of pink here and there.   I can honestly say that the camera is simply not catching all that this painting shows in reality.  

Truthfully, I am still not entirely happy with it.  White is a VERY difficult pigment to work with when it is the main element of the painting.  There is no way to highlight whites and one must work in reverse to get the white to pop. 

However, this has been a great learning experience and I hope that as I grow with these paints, my expertise with "white" will also increase.  :-)
