I honestly can't remember when I painted this so I'll toss it into June's folder.  *cursed senility!*

I wanted to experiment with Frescolina ... the texture medium that we carry.  I had this silly little piece of wood with the tin butterfly and thought it needed some 3-D to it.  I tinted the Frescolina and slathered it onto the wood -- really laid it on thick too --I wanted a good 3-D effect!

Well, what I didn't know is that if one gets Frescolina too thick, it cracks ... just like my piece did.   *gasp*

Bob Ross always said there are no painting mistakes, only "happy accidents".  I believe him.  After all ... look what he can do with a 2" paint brush.  My Frescolina had paint in it therefore a happy accident could apply.

I grabbed my DecoArt Americana Terra Cotta and Heritage Brick Red acrlyics and went to work.  I think I might have tossed in a Dark Plum here or there as well as a bit of Light Buttermilk with that Terra Cotta too.

I loved the result ... but then ... we humans always do tend to love the monsters we create, don't we?  :-)  :-)  :-)  It hangs proudly in my painting studio!
