Genesis Florals These surface pieces were found for $1.00 each on clearance at Michaels. They had Wine Labels stamped into the ceramic stone tile which has rough edges and grabbed my fancy. I gesso'd over the wine labels, let dry overnight, based with a Genesis mix of Titanium White + Burnt Umber and then antiqued with a rub of Burnt Umber. I then went to work with my Genesis mixes to create my own colour palette for the flowers. I heat set all of the tiles in the oven. I then put the drop-shadow in under the flowers which was done with Burnt Umber and Genesis Glazing Gel and then a final heat-set with my Genesis drying gun. The patterns are adapted from three different books as noted under each of the individual close-ups below. The more I do with Genesis, the more I love that paint! |
