Genesis Roses I can't begin to tell you how proud I am of this piece. Mind you now, this is only the second time (see April 05 Pansies for my first experience) in my life I've played with the Genesis Heat Set Oil Paints and just look at my results (well at the roses at least ... my leaves still need work! lol). I'm beaming with pride and excited to realize that this painting medium and I are well on our way to a beautiful and long-lasting friendship. The colour mixes are mine of course, done solely from the 6 piece Genesis Sampler. I've mixed in my usual "pink and teal" colour palette of choice. *giggle* The pattern is a combination really as the design layout itself is from "Priscilla Paints China Techniques" by Priscilla Hauser (right on the cover) and the roses painting style is emulated from one of the Japanese Artist's style of oil painted roses in "A Sentimental Collection of Roses". It had a worksheet which I used for visual reference for my roses. I am already looking forward to my next Genesis project!! These paints give me hope for becoming a better painter. :-) |
